Dr. Siew Yuet-Yang is a pianist, educator, and academic specialising in piano performance, piano pedagogy, and collaborative music. He currently serves as Head of Music at Asia Music School, contributing to the development of the Music Department, faculty collaboration, student development, and academic and performance programmes.

Dr. Siew holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance from the University of Oregon, where he studied under Dr. Brian Hsu. During his doctoral studies, he also completed specialised studies in Piano Pedagogy and Collaborative Piano, working with Dr. Grace Ho and Dr. David Riley.
 

He previously earned his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Missouri State University, where he studied under Dr. Wei-Han Su.
 

As an active soloist and chamber musician, Dr. Siew has performed extensively in recital, chamber music, and academic settings. In 2019, he was invited to present a series of recitals in Buffalo, New York, as part of the celebration of Poland’s Independence Day.
 

His achievements include First Prize in the MMTA Competition and First Prize in the J.D. Kelly Piano Competition. He was also inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda, the national music honor society in the United States.
 

Alongside his performance career, Dr. Siew has developed extensive teaching and academic experience. At the University of Oregon, he served as a studio accompanist, class piano instructor, and instructor in the Community Music Institute programme. He has also held leadership positions within the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and presented academic work at the MTNA National Conference in Chicago.
 

At Asia Music School, Dr. Siew brings together his international performance experience, advanced academic training, and expertise in piano pedagogy to support students in developing strong musical foundations, confident performance skills, and a deeper understanding and appreciation of music.
