Dr. Hwi Hwang, Dean of Asia Music School, is an outstanding pianist whose musical virtuosity reflects a thorough knowledge of musical styles.
He is a pianist of international acclaim, with numerous performances to his credit. After winning the Czech Kroměříž International Piano Competition, Dr. Hwi Hwang went on to perform his solo recitals and with orchestras at the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Europe, Cuba, Bulgaria, Hungary, England, South Korea, Czech Republic, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Ukraine, and the United States.
He exudes strong stage presence both with orchestras and as a soloist. He is also highly regarded as a vocal accompanist and chamber musician. In 2004, his performance of the Liszt Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Russian Federal Orchestra was commercially released under the Angelok Label.
Dr. Hwi Hwang holds a master’s and a doctoral degree in piano performance from the University of North Texas, USA. He has taught at distinguished universities in Korea for several decades and has been invited to serve as faculty at renowned music festivals in Korea, the United States, and Europe.
